I took Gallup's CliftonStrengths Assessment nearly five years ago and it literally changed my life. I didn't believe an assessment could so accurately account for the way my life had been lived and the way "I was," but it nailed it. (We have all probably taken a handful of "personality tests" over the years, but this goes WAY beyond that - plus, it's not a "test") The ability to recognize where your strengths help and hinder you in both your personal and professional lives can be very informative and persuasive in making major decisions.Melinda's book is a powerful tool that helps you take the ability to harness your strengths to a whole new level. Not only can you recognize when a top strength is holding you back by being in "overdrive," but you can cut it off by using essential oils and the memory of scent. The same is true for recognizing when you need to rev up a lesser strength and put it to use - use that memory of another scent to pull up the memories of times where that strength shined.The idea that you can just throw these two things together - essential oils and CliftonStrengths - might seem far-fetched, but there is science behind it - and Melinda shows you the science in a very palatable, easy-to-read format. The "book" portion of the book is fairly brief, then she gets right down to showing you how to work through the method and start the process of "anchoring to your strengths."
I absolutely LOVE the concept of anchoring to your strengths with smell and essential oils, and Melinda's book gave me the concrete information to move the concept into reality!! By working with Gallup to include the descriptions of each of strengths from their test, I feel like you're really getting two books in one. I took the strengths finder test years ago so knew my strengths when I received this book. I was then able to re-read about my strengths to get reacquainted with them, then take it to the next level by pairing them with oils. And I love that she provided counterbalance oils, too! My top strength is focus, and sometimes I need to just relax on that one a bit, so having a counter oil at the ready is so awesome. This is awesome for anyone that interacts with others on a regular basis - at home or at work - because it helps you understand yourself AND those that you're close to. And what a cute gift to pair this book with a couple essential oils?! Yay!!
Simple guide to support the Clifton strengths... Easy to view and worth the cost.I love knowing which oils will enhance my strengths. I think what is even more helpful is the counterbalance oils for each strength. I found that some of my strengths could be toned down to work more effectively. Knowing which counterbalance oil to use keeps things in check.I also like the quick reference in the back where I have highlighted the oils for my strengths.
I had so much FUN using this book to select my coordinating oils with my strengths. I took the GallupStrength test over a year ago and was super excited to know my top 5 strengths. It really helped me to identify why I did life and business the way I did. Add the doTERRA line of essential oils into the picture and holy oil wow! I’ve only flipped through it and I want to scream from the mountain tops “THANK YOU!â€I’ve done the Gallup test and my results really honed in my “why†in my business but it also allowed me to see my inner strength on a 2 dimensional level.Thank you for making the essential oil connections and giving everyone the ability to make some emotional breakthroughs on a blood brain barrier/amygdala level.I’ll be making roller bottle blends of my strengths tonight!
