I have honestly been touched by Alex’s words + self care writing practices. After experiencing trauma and years of therapy this journal of affirmations is a creative way to express myself even if it’s in a few words. It feels good to support a woman of color’s brand, being honest with how I feel without shame or guilt. To just completely journey towards healing.
I absolutely love this book!! It is beautifully crafted. The most beautiful shade of pale blue. It’s a great size. Big enough to feel substantial but not so big that it’s cumbersome. The calligraphy is stunning throughout the book.The writing prompts are perfect! They compel you to really consider your response which aids in writing it out. The examples are great if you need a little help getting started. It is a phenomenal self reflective journaling guide.I recommend it for everyone! I’m ordering more for my tribe.

I appreciated “A Note To Self†because it helped me set proactive intentions for myself and I was weary of buying this journal due to not knowing what could be different. However, I’m so glad I purchased! I AM IN LOVE. The questions are short but they really force you to take time and think. There’s no quick answer, you have to quiet yourself and reflect which is amazing. My favorite section, that I find to be most challenging, would be the Affirmation Charts. Great practice.Thanks Alex for this gem! Excited to continue using.
I am so grateful for Alex. This journal is outstanding! The cover is so beautiful. It’s a decent size! It comes with a bookmark which I LOVE! The questions that you are encouraged to ask yourself is so so nurturing! This book is so needed. If I could rate it a million stars I would! I recommend this book 1,000%. I love everything about this journal. From the color to the weight to the way it just feels. I could tell that some thought was put into it until it was perfect. This journal is broken into three parts. Questions you ask and answer yourself. Charting and the letter you write to yourself. I’m not much of a writer but I love writing in this journal. I never thought a journal can radiate happiness and love. This journal makes me want to drink water and go vegan. I won’t go vegan but I might take a sip of water now and then. But I definitely will recommend this book the everyone I know. If you’re reading this review just buy it already you won’t regret it.
I absolutely love my journal! I even gifted two to my best friend and my teenage daughter. First I love the bookmark! It adds a touch of personal belonging to it. Most of all the prompts are soft questions to answers we have the most difficult time giving. Today I Affirm is an excellent tool for getting to know yourself and developing a better relationship between you and you. Thank you Alex for digging in to your own personal woes and offering us your recipes to find our way to healing.
This journal really invites you to set aside a few minutes each day to spend some time with yourself and reflect on some deep questions. So far, it's been a great tool for cultivating a deeper relationship with myself and I'm excited to continue writing in it throughout the year. I skip around in the journal, as I like to rotate between the prompts, the affirmation charting, and the self-care letters, and I date my entries as I go. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in investing in a self-care routine that involves some internal reflection.
The questions within the journal are very thought provoking and necessary for introspection. After writing the answers, I have the inspiration to write a powerful affirmation. This is a great tool for self-awareness, positive affirmations, and overall self-improvement. Love it very much.
