Social media how-to books (and the people who write them) are a dime-a-dozen, as my Mom used to say.Everyone thinks they know what's up.And, of course, not everyone does.Mitch Jackson does.I bought his book (on Kindle AND paperback) because I have a high regard for Mitch, the author, as a friend, professional, and someone who walks his talk. And now, with his book, you can rest assured that you are in capable hands in the realm of digital marketing.Every chapter has actionable take-aways someone can use to be a better human being when relating to others on the socials.Every contributing author is unique and smart in their own ways, and the gist of the book as a whole is that when we consider sharing with other humans using the digital tools available, it's up to us to claim our own unique voice and listen to our inner wisdom.This book is likely to become a classic in the fast-paced, ever-changing world of building relationships that pay, on and off line. That's saying a lot, since most social media how-to books become obsolete by the time they are published.THIS book is well-rounded and fun to read. Social media, and digital marketing in general is a HUGE area and I can't possibly pretend to understand it all - despite the fact that it's what I do for a living.What Mitch has put together here is a fantastic resource that covers the field of the current digital imperatives for professionals. The most useful aspects of this book for me where those chapters on the (many) areas where I am weaker and need a nudge to brush up my knowledge and my execution. And I think for anyone exploring this space, it's finding out what you don't know that can give you the biggest boost. Perhaps it's actionable tips on Facebook advertising, or how to use Twitter more effectively, or generating a referral-based professional business. The chapters (disclaimer: I wrote one) are both strategic and actionable, offering both useful underlying philosophies and specific tactics that you can execute immediately.Mitch's book is a fantastic go-to guide on the vast majority of what any professional needs to know, and execute, in order to succeed in their marketing efforts in a digital age.

I have been following Mitch Jackson's work for quite some time, and I have always admired the way he built engaged audiences through various social media platforms. So when he wrote a book sharing his strategies and tips, I knew I had to get my hands on that book. I thought I was familiar with most platforms and knew how to work a few of them, but this book shares specific tips and strategies on how to differentiate yourself and build an engaged and loyal audience. I also loved how Mitch shared specific advice from other social media experts, making this really a Social Media bible for every business owner, professional and entrepreneur.

Depending on your level of comfort with social media, this is the book for you. If you are new to online marketing tactics, you should read from the beginning to understand the appropriate mindset. If, however, you have been doing it for a while and you just need to get comfortable with some new tools, the book is also great. For those comfortable with social media, you can choose the chapters most appropriate for your current needs and read those first. Personally, I will not be reading in order. Nevertheless, the book will be helpful for all.

Mitch is not only a great attorney that I consistently seek council from he is also a great friend. Anytime I need advice I contact him first Bc if he does not have the answer he will help you find the answer within his network friends and associates. This book puts you right in his network’s inner circle and To me for him to collaborate in a book like this it truly exposes the essence of who he is as a person. The world is changing and it’s changing quickly and he keeps himself at the forefront of all things relevant to what you need to know now. There is no finer resource on how to do social media right for the professional. This book has contributions from 40+ experts in all aspects of social media. Videos, podcasting, blogs, websites, newsjacking, etc. You name the subject, it’s in here! I plan to give it this book as a gift to several friends. I just wish Mitch would have done this book sooner. Cannot recommend it enough!
