If that’s you, then I highly recommend Beginner’s Guide To zBrush.

As someone who has worked with and taught Zbrush in the high school classroom for the past several years I can say this is the best book I have come across and I have purchased nearly every book on Zbrush I can find. There are many books on Zbrush that are wonderful to have but this one does the best job at showing someone how to get started. Another must have for any 3-D artist who is familiar with 3Dtotal. They have released some of the best books I have in my collection.

Best Zbrush beginner guide ever in my opinion. Actually got somewhere with this one. Sensible progression without over-whelming you with every detail of the interface. Adds as you progress, instead of bombing you with every feature way to early, which is super boring and not productive. I mean unless someone comes out with a nice Keyboard overlay or something, why do all these trainers think that you should screw around with tweaking one of the most complex interfaces in software history before you learn it's nuances "as is". You end up "cocking" it all up before you get started which is so lame and so typical of these tutorials usually. This one will get you rolling far faster than most. Start with "factory" settings to learn. Change your interface around in 10 months or so. Pixologix genius does have a reset to original at least!!! Nice! You'll use it 100 times with other books to try to figure out what you are supposed to be looking at!

I love it! The book is enticing and easy to follow. Zbrush is a hard software to get around but at least this book gives us steps and workflows as in a recipe while explaining how the tools work and the overall structure. I was looking for a beginners guide for some time and also watched tutorials online but stuff didn't stick. While I am reading the book I am filling the page's edges with postnotes with important key combos or steps as a reminder because is a lot to swallow at first. I prefer this method because I can find things quickly. So, overall if you are a complete beginner I would recommend this book, it is nicely designed, updated and affordable.

This book is amazing! I tried learning Zbrush from tutorial videos but they were all over the place and assumed I knew more about cg than I already did. This book teaches a beginner to both CG and ZBRUSH the basics of both the program and how to use it. If you buy this book and take the lessons slowly, you are guaranteed to learn the core of this program.

This by far is one of my favorite books by far on zbrush! 3D total always does a great job with their books with easy to understand tutorials with plenty of pictures that illustrate the instruction. This book is especially shows some of the new tools in the latest version of Zbrush.

It's one of the best zbrush learning books I have ever read. The steps are easy to follow and it's quite straight forward, so if you wish to learn zbrush this is the book for you
